A small window near the Vestry of Chawton Church, Hampshire
was dedicated in memory of two children of Major Edward Bradford
and his wife Elizabeth Adela – and bears the inscription:–

HERBERT LEWKENOR born at Chawton, Sept. 26th 1873.
Died at Khairwarra, Rajpootana, Mar. 19th 1874.
Also of
DARYL COLBORNE born at Lucknow Jan. 25th 1872,
Died at Odeypore, May 30th 1874
Infant sons of Major Bradford and Elizabeth Adela
his wife, dau. Of Edward Knight of Chawton House.
The Lord hath need of them.
