Charles John Austen married, secondly, August 7th 1820, Harriet, daughter of John Grove
Palmer - his first wife's sister.
He died off Prome, October 7th 1852 at the age of 74 – and was buried at Trincomalee, Ceylon. (Epitaphs pages 258 and 259)
Harriet died December 5th 1869, having had issue:

This officer entered the Royal Navy on February 15th 1833.
Passed his examination June 6th 1840 and then, while serving as Mate of the 'Bellerophon' of 80 guns, commanded by his father – was present at the fall of St. Jean d'Acre.
