... who regarded him with respect and admiration. Underneath this somewhat masterful manner was a sensitive nature, depending greatly upon affection and sympathy. The main influence of his life, in boyhood and youth, had been his father, and a very intimate and pleasurable relationship grew up between them, which Ernest always valued most highly.

He died on April 15th 1927 at the age of 87 – and was buried at Tilmanstone.'

Florence Mary Rice. [3]
Born March 19th 1841
Baptized at Tilmanstone, June 23rd 1841.
Married, on December 19th 1861, John Wright of Osmaston, Derbyshire. Mr Wright assumed the name of Osmaston in lieu of Wright by Deed Poll dated September 8th 1876.

'My mother was very tall, and before I knew her she was very active. Latterly, however, she suffered from severe headaches and ultimately was a permanent invalid. She was devoted to a country life and adored birds and flowers. She was clever and amusing in conversation. She was a very good mother to us – her large family of ten sons and daughters.'
– Her son, Mr. Bertram B. Osmaston.
She died in August 19th 1910.
