Gained Foundation Scholarship for Marlborough College, and was there from 1931-1936.
Corpus College, Oxford, 1936-1939.
Joined the Royal Artillery, as a 2nd Lieutenant, September 1939 – before the outbreak of war.
Went to France.
Safely evacuated from Dunkirk.
Took part in the Tunisian campaign, and was a Battery Commander in the Anzio and Gothic Line operations. Wounded at Pantellaria, June 1943.
Awarded the Military Cross, January 1946 – 'For outstanding service and devotion to duty, often under extremely hazardous conditions, during which he displayed great gallantry.'
Since then he has served in Palestine and Egypt.
Now (1952) in England with his Regiment.
He holds the rank of Major.'

Preparatory School: Swanbourne House School, Bletchley.
Haileybury College, 1935-1939. (In School Rugby XV.)
Queens College, Oxford, 1939-1940.
Commissioned in the Royal Artillery, September 1940.
Served in West Africa 1942-1943; and in Burma 1943-1945. Slightly wounded.
Returned to England 1946.
