Nominated a Companion of the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1919.
He married, January 7th 1891, Rose, daughter of Henry Price, 4th Baron de Teissier, General and Colonel Commandant, Royal Artillery.

Educated at Wellington College and Finsbury Technical College, London (Engineering diploma.)
Two years with Messrs. Vickers Ltd. Sheffield.
Emigrated to Western Australia, wheat farming, 1913-1916.
Joined the Australian Army. Served in France until August 1918, wounded and invalided back to Western Australia.
Returned to England and entered the Civil Service.
War Pensions, 1920-1934.
Ministry of Transport, 1934-1951.
Retired November 30th 1951.
Nominated a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire. (M.B.E.)

Married, December 4th 1916, Sybil Nita Norrie, daughter of a Bank Manager of Perth, Western Australia – by whom he has one son:
