Appointed, under the Home Office, as Commandant of the Civil Defence Training College, Easingwold, Yorkshire which appointment he still holds (1953)

Married in 1919, Gertrude Alleyne, daughter of Paymaster Admiral Boyer, of Saltash, Cornwall.
