... George Purvis R.N., Secretary to Earl Howe and Earl St. Vincent.
G.T.M. Purvis, born June 10th 1802, entered the Royal Navy in 1815, became Commander July 6th 1842 and retired, with the rank of Captain, July 1st 1862. He died at Newton Abbot in October 1882.
Mary Jane died December 29th 1836, and was buried in Fareham Church. (Epitaph page 251)

Retired, with rank of Captain, April 1st 1870.
No war service.
He died unmarried, in 1880, at Yokohama, Japan. (Epitaph page 252)
